How do I install a Minecraft mod?
Install the mod loader the mod needs (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt) for your Minecraft version, then put the mod's .jar file in the .minecraft/mods folder and launch the game with that loader's profile.
What is the difference between Fabric and Forge mods?
They are separate mod loaders, so a Fabric mod needs Fabric and a Forge mod needs Forge. NeoForge is a fork of Forge, and Quilt can run most Fabric mods.
Do mods work on servers?
Some mods are client-only, some are server-only and some must be installed on both. Check the mod's description for where it needs to be installed.
